Corpus Christi Medical Center (CCMC) is expanding its scope of services and has launched CareNow® Virtual Urgent Care, a telehealth service. Virtual Care visits allow patients to see and talk to a provider from a mobile device or computer. Patients can visit a trusted healthcare professional from the comfort of home or the office.

“Corpus Christi Medical Center is committed to providing an easy solution for our local and rural patients who need urgent and after-hours medical care,” said Eric Evans, CEO at CCMC. “Virtual Care is an extension of Corpus Christi Medical Center’s healthcare services and fully supports our efforts to provide high quality, safe and effective care to the communities we serve,” said Evans.

Telehealth services offer patients access to one-on-one care from one of our exceptional physicians, nurse practitioners or physician assistants through a secure and HIPAA-compliant internet video connection. Through a virtual visit, providers can evaluate many minor conditions and even prescribe non-narcotic medications when indicated.

While many minor conditions can be treated with a Virtual Care visit, there may be times when a more thorough examination is required or tests need to be performed. When this is needed, CCMC will assist by referring patients to a primary care physician and help them schedule an appointment right away.

CareNow® Virtual Care is in-network with most insurance plans. Telehealth visits are available Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00pm Additional information regarding all services at Corpus Christi Medical Center can be found at CC Medical Center.
