The EMS of the Year—Brilliant Star of Life Award was established by CCMC to honor one EMS professional who best exemplifies the positive impact of EMS on the health of the community and pre-hospital care.

HCA today announced the appointment of Troy A. Villarreal as president of HCA’s Gulf Coast division effective June 20, 2016. Villarreal replaces Maura Walsh who recently announced her retirement after a nearly 30-year career with HCA. As Gulf Coast division president, Villarreal will have responsibility for 16 hospitals and a number of other free-standing facilities serving communities in Greater Houston, Corpus Christi and south Texas.

During the holidays, 86 year old Jesus Ramon was rushed to Doctors Regional Hospital after suffering a debilitating heart attack. His son, Ray Ramon, was also admitted to Doctors Regional Hospital at the same time for the treatment of conditions related to cancer.

HCA affiliated, Corpus Christi Medical Center (CCMC), Chief Executive Officer, Jay Woodall, announced the installation of Tammy Frank McDonald and James B. Tyree, M.D., P.A. as newly appointed board of trustee members. Both Mrs. Tammy McDonald and Dr. James Tyree serve as trustee members for a three year term which expires Jan. 15, 2017.
