Corpus Christi Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Romel, vice president of business development, effective July 30, 2023.
Michelle began her career with CCMC in 2016 as the director of physician and provider relations generalist. In 2018, she transitioned to the director of physician and provider relations, surgical specialist. With her strong leadership background and over 18 years of healthcare experience, Michelle has been a driving force behind market-wide growth initiatives. Among her many accomplishments, Michelle has played a critical role in the success and growth of CCMC’s cardiovascular, robotic and bariatric programs and other key service lines. Additionally, Michelle was instrumental in initiating the direct admission system for hospitals, scheduling express and PODs, as well as physician alignment, recruitment and onboarding of multiple physicians.
In her new role, Michelle will be responsible for system growth and business development initiatives including physician partnerships and the development of freestanding emergency rooms, urgent care centers and ambulatory surgery centers.
