Our program has a strong focus on community health as we partner with local clinics and Federally Qualified Health Clinics (FQHC) to provide the resident with the opportunity to contribute directly to the health and well-being of Corpus Christi and its surrounding areas.
CCMC is a highly collegial setting with high emphasis on resident wellness. Above all else, CCMC's Internal Medicine residency program is committed to the care and improvement of human life and this commitment lays a significant foundation for an enriching residency and a successful medical career.
About the internal medicine residency program
The Internal Medicine Residency Program provides training and education to the residents in the broad field of general internal medicine. The resident will develop the skills and competencies necessary to practice in a primary care setting, to practice as a hospitalist, or to enter subspecialty training with confidence.
Program objectives are specifically designed to meet the needs of the graduate who intends to enter Internal Medicine or do further study in a specialized area. The rotating services provided include all inpatient and ambulatory care departments.
The primary objective of this three-year Internal Medicine Practice Residency Program is to provide a well-organized, progressive program with emphasis on education over service. The program is affiliated with the UNTHSC/TCOM-Ft. Worth.
Residency positions
For the upcoming academic year, CCMC is anticipating filling 10 PGY I spots. All applications must be submitted through ERAS and applicants must be registered with the NRMP.
