Outpatient imaging services we offer

We offer a wide variety of imaging modalities and, for your convenience, you can pre-register for your service.

Computed tomography scan (CT)

CT scans combine several X-ray images with computer processing to create a cross-sectional picture of the inside of the body. X-rays are images created using ionizing radiation.

CT scans are helpful in showing blood clots and circulatory disorders. Also, CT scans can help evaluate the progress being made with medical treatment, such as showing how cancerous tumors are shrinking after radiation therapy.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)

This modality uses magnetic energy to create detailed images of the body's organs and tissues using powerful magnets.

Since this type of imaging doesn't use radiation, MRI is suitable for imaging the brain and nervous system, muscles, ligaments and tendons.

Ultrasound imaging

Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves to form pictures of the body. It shows problems with internal organs, blood vessels and tissues.

Since ultrasound is another modality that doesn't use radiation, it's good for monitoring an unborn child during pregnancy. Ultrasounds also help evaluate conditions like breast tumors and gallbladder disease.

X-ray imaging

X-rays are the oldest and most common form of imaging. This quick, painless technique exposes ionizing radiation to the body to see organs, bones and internal structures and diagnose conditions such as bone fractures, infections, arthritis and gastrointestinal problems.

Outpatient screenings for specific needs

Our medical specialists may need specific imaging procedures to help diagnose a condition. Some of the specialty imaging services we offer include:

  • Breast MRI—Use of magnetic fields to create an image of breast tissue
  • Breast ultrasound—Image of breast tissue created by soundwaves
  • Bronchoscopy—An endoscopy exam to look at the airways
  • Digital mammography—Combination of X-rays with computerization to diagnose breast cancer
  • Electrocardiography (ECG or EKG)—Test that measures heart's electrical activity
  • Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with a 6000-pixel probe—Combination of X-rays with an endoscope to create high-resolution color images of bile or pancreatic ducts
  • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)—Thin tube inserted into the body with camera and instruments to make pictures of the gastrointestinal system using soundwaves
